Frequently asked questions

More questions? We have answers.

No. Journeys and Funnels are complementary to each other.

Journeys provide the comprehensive picture about the different paths users take on the website, and which steps make them struggle.

Funnels give you an idea of the amount of users who got from step A to step B no matter which path they took. They could’ve visited 10 different pages between steps A and B, and they still have completed the funnel.

In this sense, Funnels are path-agnostic, while Journeys are all about showing the different paths.

There’s ongoing debate about the definitions of user journey, user flow, and user path.

We choose to not engage in this debate. Our feature is named ‘Journeys’ because we believe it best reflects the journey the users take on a website.

Among user behavior analytics tools, very few offer user journey mapping. Mouseflow is among the best ones.
